In honor of its 75th Anniversary, Behr Paint Company was presented with a Proclamation of Recognition by Mayor Pro Tem Bacerra on behalf of the City of Santa Ana and the City Council.
“Santa Ana has been home to Behr Paint Company since the 1950s—not too long after our inception,” said Drew Hatcher, Sr. Director at Behr who’s been with the company for more than 25 years. “We have more than 1,000 team members working throughout our Santa Ana facilities—including corporate, research & development (R&D), manufacturing and distribution—and more than 100 live in the city itself.”
Behr Paint’s history in Santa Ana, California, spans multiple decades—starting with a land purchase in 1956 to build an 18,000-square-foot facility that included a corporate office, R&D laboratory, manufacturing plant and a small warehouse. The building has since expanded on the property to support operations capabilities and today manufactures many of the brand’s specialty and oil-based product lines.
In 2018, the company opened its new 230,000-square-foot state-of-the-art global headquarters. The three-story office location celebrates the colorful culture of the company and its rooted history.
Over the years, Behr Paint has also contributed hundreds of gallons of coating products to local community projects. Most recently, a historical mural restoration on Civic Center Drive, Santa Ana, California.
Mayor Pro Tem Bacerra was pleased to present the recognition to Behr for its support stating, “It was an honor to celebrate Behr's long-term commitment to Santa Ana and their many contributions to our community, including their donations of paint and materials that have been used to restore and maintain many of the beautiful murals throughout our city.”
